Community Impact: The Childcare Accelerator Program is more than just a single event; it’s a key part of our ongoing efforts to provide sustained support to childcare providers.  Yakima County Development Association (YCDA) is committed to offering continuous assistance, resources, and follow-up opportunities in collaboration with the Small Business Development Center.

Empowering Childcare Providers: Grant Funding to Enhance Business Understanding (Childcare Accelerator Program). We are thrilled to announce that our childcare community is about to embark on an exciting journey of growth and knowledge thanks to recent grant funding.  The goal? To equip childcare providers with essential business insights, empowering them to thrive in their crucial roles.

Grant Overview: Supported by the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) of the United State Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), we have been awarded a grant of $140,000.  This funding, which is 100% provided by ACF/HHS, is dedicated to a comprehensive program to enhance the business skills of childcare providers: The Childcare Accelerator Program.

Program Highlights: As part of this program, we are providing a series of technical assistance workshops tailored specifically for childcare providers offered in English and Spanish.  These workshops will cover essential business management topics including digital education, financial education, and digital marketing strategies.  All workshops are designed for both in-home and childcare centers.

We partnered with the Yakima Valley Community Foundation to host in-person conferences in April 2024.  Space is limited, so we are encouraging individuals to register today.

  • April 12, 2024: Yakima Conference (English) 10 am – 2 pm
  • April 13, 2024: Grandview Conference (Spanish) 10 am – 2 pm

We are grateful for the support of ACF/HHS and South Central Workforce which enables us to provide these invaluable resources to our childcare community.  Together, let’s empower and strengthen the foundation of quality childcare for all–supporting our local workforce and the ongoing business development of our county.
