2024 Year-in-Review: Celebrating Progress Together

As 2024 comes to a close, we want to thank our investors, supporters, and community partners.  Thanks to their partnership, we’ve made significant strides this year in business recruitment, business retention, workforce development, infrastructure investments, and creating new jobs in communities across Yakima County.

The impact we’ve achieved would not have been possible without your commitment to Yakima County’s growth and prosperity.  Below is an overview of some of the work and milestones we accomplished together:

Highlights of 2024

Manzana Announces a New Facility in Sunnyside.  We celebrated the announcement of Manzana’s new facility in Sunnyside, which will bring more jobs and opportunities to the community.  Read more about it here.

Amazon Announces Yakima Warehouse.  Amazon’s new last-mile facility in Yakima is set to boost the local economy and enhance logistics in the region.  Discover more details here.

YCDA Childcare Business Accelerator Strengthens Yakima’s Workforce.  By supporting childcare businesses, we’re addressing a critical workforce need and empowering families across Yakima County.  Learn about the program’s impact here.

Paragon Films Expands Union Gap Facility.  Paragon Films’ expansion highlights Yakima County’s business-friendly environment and commitment to supporting local industries.  Read the story here.

YCDA Co-Hosts Workforce Conference.  In October, we co-hosted the 2nd Annual Workforce Conference, focusing on innovative strategies to navigate the looming talent crisis.  Check out the event recap here.

Upgrades Headed to the Airport.  Thanks to a $750,000 Supporting Investment in Economic Development (SIED) grant, the City of Yakima will see critical upgrades to the airport, enabling further economic development.  Read more about this investment here.

Infrastructure Funding Enables Business Growth in Moxee.  With strategic infrastructure investments, Moxee is now primed for increased business growth.  Learn more about this advancement here.

Recruiting Ag Tech to the Yakima Valley.  In 2024, YCDA attended multiple conferences in an effort to bring agricultural innovation to the region.  Find out more about these initiatives here.

Transportation Infrastructure Delegation in D.C.  A Yakima County delegation traveled to Washington, D.C. to advocate for critical transportation projects, ensuring our region’s priorities are heard at the national level.  Read about their efforts here.
